Working With Beginning Skaters
sKateAdmin2018-11-09T14:38:42+00:00I was reminded of what a unique endeavor skating is, when a young student — first learning back cross-overs and finally picking up a little speed – said to me, “oh, I can feel the wind in my face!”
Training for Masters Moves
sKateAdmin2018-11-09T14:39:58+00:00I spent much of 2014 chasing coach Aleksey Morkovkin around the rink at Panthers Ice Den, in an attempt to regain some of my former speed and agility while preparing for Masters Gold Moves

Masters Gold Moves
sKateAdmin2018-11-09T14:55:08+00:00At Pines Ice Arena with coach Tracey Damigella who took me back to basics for my attempt at the Masters Gold MIF test In June 2015. This discipline had not been part of the sport during my competitive days, so I thought it was crucial to learn USFS’s alternate approach to fundamentals.
During the 1980s Tracey was one of the top skaters in the U.S., a World Team alternate and a student of the legendary Carlo Fassi. Her stellar training in figures helped me immensely and in this pic she’s pointing out my score, one of the highest ever awarded in the Masters discipline.
